Passing Spaces or T-intersection or Turn-Around areas on Mobi-Mat Roll out Pathways.

Most Outdoor Recreation Accessibility Guidelines agree on the following :

where the clear tread width of a beach access route is less than 60 inches (1, 5 m ),

  • 60 inches ( 1,5 m ) wide x 60 inches ( 1,5 m ) long passing spaces are required at least every 200 feet ( 60 meters )
  • or A T-intersection with the arms and stem of the T-shaped space extend at least 48 inches ( 1,20 m ).

 

Mobi-Mat RecPath is therefore provided in 83 inches wide ( 2,10 m ) and minimum 120 inches/10' long ( 3 meters ) to be used as a T-intersection at the end of the pathway or create a Turn-a-round area alongside the pathway.
